Apprentice opportunities on offer

03 February 2014

To mark National Apprenticeship Week, in partnership with the London Transport Museum (LTM), we offered youngsters the chance to find out about apprenticeships available.

We and our supply chain hosted a recruitment fair on 4 March at City Hall to inform and offer advice to people interested in taking up apprenticeship roles in the transport industry. Experts offered help and advice. Plus, free entry was offered for all apprentices to the London Transport Museum where they could learn more about its Route into Work course.

This four-day accredited training course helps prepare young people for employment and is a great opportunity to find out about the wide range of jobs in the transport sector.

The programme has been running for more than three years and more than 40 per cent of participants have secured a permanent job.

Benefits

Apprentices can save 30 per cent on travel around the Capital with an Apprentice Oyster photocard. To be eligible, young people must be living in London, aged 18 or over, and in their first year of an approved apprenticeship course. Visit .tfl.gov.uk/apprenticeoyster
