Efficient deliveries for business

We've been working with businesses, business groups and local authorities for many years to help make deliveries in London easier and more efficient, while reducing the congestion and air quality impact on streets.

More than 500 leading businesses and fleet operators have joined us to find ways to help them to make and receive deliveries as efficiently as possible. These have included consolidating deliveries, using cargo bikes, and retiming deliveries to quieter times of day or night, among other solutions.

We've found that the benefits of more efficient delivery practices can be felt for individual businesses through both cost and time savings, as well as facilitating a less congested London.

We've used our experience to develop a range of step-by-step toolkits for businesses and business groups - guidance that supports businesses in adopting these more efficient and sustainable delivery practices.

The toolkits were developed in partnership with organisations such as local authorities, the Freight Transport Association (now Logistics UK), the Road Haulage Association, representative bodies and many large businesses such as Tesco and Sainsbury's.

We're always interested in working with organisations to help improve their deliveries so if you want to work with us, or if you would like more information about our resources, email us at sbmtdm@tfl.gov.uk.
